“To succeed, we must first believe that we can.”
The first step to becoming fit is to decide on the workout you are going to do and the meal plan you are going to follow. You can invest in a gym membership, buy some workout equipment for your home or buy a workout program but if you do not BELIEVE in YOURSELF you will not get beyond the first step.
You can have all the knowledge and tools for success in the world but if you don’t have patience, commitment and belief then you will fail.
There will be good days and there will be bad days but getting through it 80% of the time is when you will start to see results. If you allow yourself to fall off track more than 20% of the time then you will not be committed and thus will not see results.
No one ever said change was easy but change is worth it. Not only for you but also for your kids and your family. Be the role model and show your family how fun and important it is to be healthy and active.
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”
If you are ready, committed and believe in yourself then you are mentally prepared for this. Follow these 3 steps and you will achieve your goal(s).
1) WRITE AND REWRITE YOUR GOAL: Yes you do NEED to write it out every single day! If you want to do it more than once a day that is fine too but WRITE IT!
Make sure you have visible access to your goal at all times: Put it on your fridge, mirror, nightstand, wherever as long as its visible to you every day.
2). VISUALIZE YOUR GOAL: Yes take a minute and think about yourself living your goal. This will make things more real and eventually they will become real.
Imagine yourself running that 5k for the first time or wearing your new skinny jeans you bought but can’t yet fit into, or coming off of the medication that you do not need to take anymore. It is important to set a few minutes each day to visualizing your goals and becoming emotionally attached to them. “Seeing is believing”
If you struggle to focus and clear your mind like I do then you can create a dream board and redo it every week. Check out Oprah’s link on creating your very own FREE dream board that you can save and set as your wallpaper, print etc here http://www.oprah.com/spirit/O-Dream-Board-Envision-Your-Best-LifeTM
3). Plan to do 3 things EACH DAY that support your goal.
For this challenge on becoming a fit mom here are 3 things you should do EVERY DAY!
- Follow a healthy meal plan and make better food choices
- Workout (yoga, stretching, walking, weight-training, active recovery etc)
- Drink half your body weight in oz daily ie if you weigh 150 lbs you should be drinking 75oz daily
