Colitis Update – Colonoscopy Time

The time finally arrived!  A procedure most people get anxious about but I was relatively calm and actually excited.  Nervous of course but excited.

The prep didn’t go as smoothly as in the past.

3:45 prep began:  I felt like I was going to be sick to my stomach for a good two hours and nothing happened for a while either.  Midnight approached and I was worried I would be up all night.  Thankfully that wasn’t the case but my stomach was still gurgling in the morning!

6:30am- Magnesium Citrate followed by 30 oz of water this morning and then I was off and praying I would make it without any accidents.

I posted this on my facebook timeline just after waking up from the procedure!

“Just got out of my colonoscopy!

Doc comes in and says “I found no inflammation – NONE! I honestly thought I was going to find something given your onset and history and I didn’t and I’m so happy! So whatever it is that you are doing you keep doing it!”

Seriously in shock still with the news! This is my third colonoscopy since diagnosed in 2009 and my first one since I came off all of my meds and healed myself in 2013! Naturally, I was extremely nervous because I was afraid he’d find something silent that wasn’t appearing as a symptom!

I’m so thankful to God everyday for giving me a second chance to take matters in my own hand and putting this doctor in my life at a time where I felt like I had no hope left!

Thankful for all of you who kept me in your thoughts and prayers during this nerve wracking time.”

For those of you who have been following my journey you understand how big of a deal this is to me.  If you haven’t been reading about my story then feel free to check that out so you can see exactly what I have been through since 2009.

I am honestly still in complete shock.  I thought for sure the doctor was going to come in and say that he did find inflammation.  I didn’t think he would find much given that I haven’t had any symptoms but never expected him to say he found NONE!  You better believe that I prayed and I prayed HARD to hear those words though.

Meeting this doctor was a complete blessing in disguise and I actually looked forward to the procedure because I was excited to see him.  He is a breathe of fresh air and someone who just makes you smile because of his positivity and calm nature.  I truly feel that if you don’t get excited about seeing your doctor you haven’t found the right one and if you are spiritual like me I suggest you pray about it!

Well that is all for now.  I have a follow up appointment with him in October and I can’t wait to see him and update you all!
